Lebanese Taverna: Reviews & Ratings
We recently stopped by Lebanese Taverna at Tysons Galleria, and although we didn’t dine in, we had a really great experience grabbing takeout from the kiosk outside the restaurant. We were in a bit of a hurry, so we ordered two chicken shawarma plates. One came with a generous portion of rice, and the other with salad — both were very well portioned and satisfying. The chicken was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tasted like authentic Lebanese-style shawarma. You can really tell they stay true to the traditional flavors. The staff was quick, efficient, and helpful, which made the whole process smooth and convenient for us. Even though this was just a quick pickup, the quality of the food really stood out. Next time, we’re definitely planning to dine in and explore more items on their menu. Looking forward to trying more from this place!
Because Inkind was offering discounts during restaurant week, my partner and I decided to try a restaurant we'd never been to before, so we chose this one. We were very satisfied with the dining environment, the service, and the food. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad, and the salmon was perfectly seared—fresh and delicious. My partner ordered the Taverna Platter with beef shawarma, and he was extremely pleased. My only complaint was that my salad was too sour; perhaps next time I should ask them to serve the dressing separately on a small plate. Incidentally, I also ordered an Arabic Tea, which was incredibly smooth with mint leaves—a delightful surprise. It was my first time dining here, and I was very satisfied. I highly recommend it.
From the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left, everything went smoothly and we felt very satisfied with the service and the food. Gorgeous decor too, great spot for a date !
We ordered both the Chef Platter and the Taverna Mezze Platter, and everything was outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, and every item tasted incredibly fresh. The hummus was silky and rich, the shawarma tender and flavorful, and the salads—especially the fattoush—were bright and perfectly dressed with crisp pita chips. The mezze selection was a standout: kibbeh, grape leaves, muhammara, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and more—each small bite packed with so much flavor that it felt like a full tasting tour of Lebanese favorites. The bread deserves its own shoutout: served hot, soft, and absolutely perfect for scooping up everything on the plate. One of the highlights of the meal. Drinks were also on point, from the sangria to the light beer—great complements to the food without overpowering it. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was warm without being rushed. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend both platters if you want to try a bit of everything—they showcase exactly what this restaurant does best.
Today was truly special as my family and I spent the day together. We visited luxury watch boutiques, exploring elegant timepieces as potential gifts for the upcoming New Year. Each watch had its own unique charm—some dazzling with diamonds, others showcasing refined simplicity and timeless style. Afterward, we browsed through the latest collection of designer handbags, sharing opinions and enjoying the excitement of finding the perfect choice. The whole experience was filled with joy and laughter. It wasn’t just about shopping for gifts, but about creating meaningful memories together. We ended the day with a delightful meal at a cozy restaurant, where every dish was full of flavor and warmth. Moments like these remind me that the greatest gift is simply being with family.
Lebanese Taverna: A Polished Taste of Home, with a Small Asterisk Lebanese Taverna at Tysons Corner is a familiar name for good reason: it delivers reliably satisfying Lebanese food in a space that feels more Washington-adjacent than Beirut-bound, but anchored in recognizable homestyle flavors. On a Thursday afternoon, the dining room hummed with Arabic conversation—a reassuring sign that those in the know still show up. We began with the hummus, which deserves every accolade it gets. Creamy, nutty, impeccably balanced, it was a five-star start. Because of a gluten intolerance, we declined the complimentary pita and were offered vegetables and rice crackers instead—only to find both added to the bill. It was a small but disappointing misstep in an otherwise smooth service rhythm. The beat salad, while fresh, arrived wilted and a bit heavy-handed with dressing, though it did its job. Redemption came swiftly with the entrées. The chicken farrouj was juicy and deeply seasoned, and the mehshi—vegetables stuffed with fragrant rice and herbs—was comforting and precise. This is food that understands its roots, even when presented in an Americanized dining room. Overall: four out of five, and very much worth a return visit.
Consistently delicious food and attentive but friendly service that is not intrusive. The Chef's Selection is a great way to get a taste across many of their offerings. The bean stew ful mudamas, labna, and garlic hummus are great brunch appetizers, and their mint tea is "bizupt!" A great spot for vegetarians as well.
Went for lunch on President's Day. Dining tables were filled, but a table by the bar was open so we were seated there. Service was kinda slow at the bar tables. But the food was excellent. I almost went again the next day. The complimentary bread was great. The baba ghanoush was great. The chicken shawarma sandwich was great. The fries that came with the shawarma were good. The salad was fine, but I prefer fries. The mango lassi was normal. The Um Ali bread pudding was fine, though I would try other dessert next time. I don't see the item on the online menu, so maybe it changes. As of now, this is also an InKind restaurant, so I appreciated the discount/cash back there. I would definitely go again.
